About

2010-Present

Eyes Wide Open Ministries began in 2010 with Brandi, Daniel, their two year old son Levi, and their four month old daughter Mary Kathleen. In 2011, they were blessed with another son named Uriah. Eyes Wide Open is focused on training and equipping leaders and pastors to lead their communities and churches in the rural, mountainous regions of Chiquimula and the surrounding areas. For three days at a time, the McIntyres would host pastors or women or youth in their home where they would feed and house them and also partner with trained pastors from the states and Guatemala in order to bring sound teaching principles as well as material to enable them to lead in the fullest capacity. They were also given the opportunity to go into the national hospital here in Chiquimula where they could pray for the patients and also hand out hygiene essentials and toys to the women, men, and children as well as biblical literature for them to read. Along with these ministry opportunities, they were also given the chance to go into many of the local schools to share lessons with biblical principles and play with the students. The ministry was able to buy some land in the same village where they were able to host the first seminar and have been blessed to build a fully functioning learning facility and a home for the McIntyres as well. All of these ministries continue to prosper and have each grown in their own capacity. The ministry is hosting groups from the states almost every week through the summer as well as a few in the fall and the spring and continues to grow! These groups help in many of the areas listed above such as the hospital and schools as well as visiting families in the villages and delivering food bags, installing stoves, and occasionally helping out with various construction projects. Eyes Wide Open continues to grow and is constantly given new opportunities to minister and they look forward to the opportunities to come!

esaú and Sonia paiz

General Coordinators

Esaú and his wife Sonia are a part of the ministry. Esaú is over the construction projects here in the ministry and out in the communities. He is a part of the team that visits pastors in their communities to pray with them and encourage them. He also helps with the seminars and maintenance within the ministry center. Sonia works hard to make sure that all the people that come to participate in the seminars or visiting on a mission trip leave with a full stomach and a smile on their face. She also helps keep the minsitry center looking beautiful.

" Admiro mucho a esta pareja McIntyre que sin saber hablar español se aventuraron a llegar a este País de Guatemala a poner su amor y pasión por las personas que más necesitan y que son abandonadas por las sociedad. Son un gran ejemplo y en Guatemala los amamos gracias por estar aquí. "

I greatly admire the McIntyre couple, because without knowing Spanish, they ventured to this country, Guatemala. They pour their love and passion on the people in need while they abandon their own society. They are a great example, and here in Guatemala, we love them! Thank you for being here.Alis, Chiquimula, Guatemala

" I spent 3 months with the McIntyres my senior year of college. It's an eye-opening experience to see how grateful the Guatemalan people are for things we take for granted--it's also cool to see how different our cultures are, but united in Jesus! I'd go all over again! "
